Elementary counselors are professional educators who work with teachers, parents, and administrators to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of students. The elementary years are a time when children begin to develop their self-concept and confidence as learners, friends, and young citizens. Young children often face many stressors that may impact their ability to learn - a death in the family, parental divorce or separation, hunger, domestic violence, conflicts with peers or adults, or feelings of anxiety or sadness. School counselors support students and families as they work through some of these challenges. My door is always open to students and families!
